Thank you everyone who responded to my post.

By some random circumstances good, bad, and utterly unimaginably horrible in a people dying and me cursing all the cruel and capricious gods kind of way, I've had to revisit my past places, all at once, within a few months. This is still happening.

Look, here, there's the park where I first kissed a girl. And, whoa boy, here's where I got my arm sliced open, don't ask about the scar. And looky here, that's where I was the feckless accessory to a felony assault. (Not that the police cared. The guy was later killed in prison. Nobody cared about that either.)

Google searches I avoid.

It's like all the time stamps on my memory files got scrambled up. Sometimes it's all feeling like yesterday, not forty-odd-something years ago.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
