Related: About this forumSo, this popped up while I was perusing YouTube...

One has to wonder if this is some kind of intel gathering or something just as sinister?
Look at that ad... I mean, really?
I can't wait to show this one to my hubby when he gets home.

(22,870 posts)And this is obviously aimed at the younger set. The kids in the pic look like very young teens, or maybe even tweens. Double yikes.
Mixing the cartoonish young with a sexual question is GROSS.

(11,536 posts)It just goes to show you that advertising is no longer about offering information to make informed choices, it has become manipulation and programming.
Because of course those leeches wanted that. I once read a book about the beginnings of mass advertising. The desire to con and swipe was there from the beginning. I always said that the more flash and pizzazz the ad has, the less quality and ability the product has. (Actual quality does not need 'excitement'.)
But, it is not about doing things well anymore, it is about how much you can grift before you get exposed. Then, it is on to the next gift.
The day we truly regulate these leeches will be a great day indeed.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
