Sacramento's latest food truck event wasn't just about sating the hunger pangs of cuisine enthusiasts but also about offering
a taste of sustainability through the power of hydrogen. According to KCRA, the
entire lineup of food trucks at the affair traded traditional gasoline-powered generators for hydrogen fuel cells provided by Toyota. This move signified a potential shift towards cleaner energy solutions within the citys bustling street food scene.
City Councilman Eric Guerra (D), playing a pivotal role in organizing the event, expressed the
twin goals of reducing emissions while propelling the local economy forward. "We're looking at how we can reduce the air, keep our economy moving forward. This is just one example of how we can achieve that," Guerra told KCRA. Meanwhile, food truck operators and customers alike were reportedly
struck by the lack of noise, a distinct departure from the clatter of gas generators they're accustomed to.
At Tahoe Park's food truck meetup, detailed by CBS News Sacramento, 18 pounds of hydrogen served up not just electricity for trucks but also a cleaner atmosphere for the event.
"Today is an example of how we can use alternative energy distribution to power all these food trucks," Councilmember Guerra was quoted, emphasizing the
