1. Really? US Engineers are "stunned" by this catastrophically stupid facility? Can we name some of the "stunned..."

engineers?

Or is this claim of "stunned" US engineers simply bullshit marketing talk?

China is subject to typhoons, lots of them, which means of course, that this junk will be torn apart in due time.

I'm stunned that anyone would think this a good idea, fucking up more of the planet's surface and damaging ecosystems for a useless affectation.

...that being a scientific and industrial superpower does not include the regular generation of something called "wisdom."

Superpowers can and do commit suicide if they do not generate enough wisdom. The late scientific superpower, the United States, for instance, committed economic, scientific, moral, and industrial suicide by electing an orange ignorant perverted pedophile to the highest office in the land.

Floating solar cells, like land based solar farms are a very, very, very bad idea, wasteful and short term and useless in addressing the crisis of extreme global heating. Thus they do not fall under the rubric of "wisdom."

This said, China leads the world in nuclear manufacturing experience, and the abrogation of leadership in molecular biology by having the orange ignorant pedophile appoint a worm brain ex-junkie to head HHS will leave China in command of that science as well in the very near term. This is certainly not a complete list of scientific leadership abrogation.

China's assumption of scientific superpower status does fall under the rubric of "wisdom."
