I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone 16. Wow!

Should have done this ages ago. The biggest thing I noticed is the batter life. On my old phone it would last the better part of a day. With this one it went all day and I still had 91% charge!

I traded one in, I think it was a 7, rather than go through the trouble of a cheap battery replacement (too far from the Apple store).

The iPhone 8 lasted a long time, until it started getting flakey, so I traded it in on the latest SE (third generation, I think)

It even uses the same Otter case, but I found a way to break it, so I got a new one. Such is life.

Reason for the modest SE was that I have lots of high tech all over, and let's keep ONE thing simple. It also won't run Apple Intelligence. I even turn off Siri. I still do most of my own thinking. Keeps my brain sharp. Actually, so does piano.

The 16 is an advanced fighter jet. Very best of luck with it. You'll enjoy the better photos, as well. I use heavy duty camera gear, and use the phone for "snapshots" at most. I have a memory card reader, so the camera pix can get sent off rather quickly. I don't use the bluetooth transfer app, preferring to keep bluetooth on the big cameras off, to conserve battery life on them.

Looks like you'll also be able to use wireless charging for the first time. It is a winner. Lightning and even USB-C ports get dust inside and the wireless charger keeps them nice and clean. Easier to use, even. (The Otter case has a flap that seals the port)

I turn off "live photos". When people send them, they just make me dizzy.

When you're serious, take a real movie.

GOOD LUCK.
