School referendums top of mind for voters as April election nears

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Referendum questions will appear on ballots across 72 different school districts for the April 7th election.

On Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers held a press conference to discuss why those referendums are increasingly necessary.

In Appleton, the district is currently operating at a $13 million deficit. They’ve added a referendum question to the ballot that would provide $15 million per year over the next four years.

In Fond du Lac, the district is seeking $30 million over four years, following a failed $40 million referendum last year.
