MILWAUKEE - Marcey Patterson, a former civilian employee with the Milwaukee Police Department, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Nov. 19, to felony election fraud.

Patterson was initially charged in August. She is accused of voting in the City of Milwaukee even though she did not live within the city limits.

What we know:: According to the criminal complaint, Marcey Patterson was employed by the City of Milwaukee Police Department as the MPD Community Relations Engagement and Recruitment Director. She held the position from May 2022 until July 2025, when she resigned.

Prosecutors allege that Patterson voted in several elections in the City of Milwaukee, although she did not live within the city limits.

Or - failure to change registration? Because you can't just show up at any old polling station .....

Edit: correction - this woman apparently had dual addresses - and whether or not she was legitimately confused about the status of her 'primary' abode - is a matter of conjecture. Apparently the city and prosecutors did not think so. Legally, her primary abode was clearly elsewhere - and not within the city limits. If she didn't legitimately know the legal ramifications ... An unfortunate error by - what we must assume a fairly educated individual.

Also never change address on her driver's license.
