Prominent Seattle immigration attorney faces lawsuit from former clients
A lawsuit filed Monday against Tukwila-based attorney Alexandra Lozano and her firm alleges that she and her staff filed fraudulent petitions on behalf of clients and placed signatures on documents without clients consent.
Nine former clients are named in the suit against Lozano and her firm La Luz del Camino Legal, also known as Alexandra Lozano Immigration Law. A three-firm legal team filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
The legal team that filed the case is led by Aric Bomsztyk, Omar Barraza and Metz Law Group.
Plaintiffs are each former Lozano clients, according to the court filing, which was shared on a website created by the legal team that brought the case forward. The plaintiffs seek damages and relief, according to the lawsuit, for harms caused by Lozano, which include loss of legal avenues for obtaining permanent residency, money spent on fraudulent petitions and/or petitions with no reasonable chance of success, and additional damages.
