National Guard breaks ground on $58 million joint HQ at Camp Murray

The Washington National Guard recently broke ground on a new Joint Force Headquarters building at Camp Murray in Pierce County that will replace aging facilities with new offices just outside of Seattle.

The new headquarters will house senior military leadership and staff of the Washington Military Department and the Washington Army and Air National Guard.

The $57.6 million project has been in the works for around 20 years and is expected to open in the summer of 2028.

Camp Murray, a U.S. military installation, is located in Lakewood, southwest of Tacoma.
