Public Works committee seeks five new members

EVERETT — A Snohomish County Public Works committee is seeking five new members who will provide feedback and recommendations for streets and sidewalks compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, a press release said.

Letters of interest for the five open positions on the Americans with Disabilities Act Public Right-of-Way Advisory Committee should be sent to SPW-TESSupport@snoco.org by Dec. 31. Letters must include name, address and contact information, along with a summary of qualifications or an explanation of how the applicant would bring value to the committee.

Applicants must be Snohomish County residents and should have a basic understanding of the history and requirements of the ADA. Those selected must undergo a criminal background check before their official appointment.

“This committee is vital in helping us be inclusive of all mobility needs across the county,” said Snohomish County Public Works Deputy Director and County Engineer Doug McCormick, in the release. “Volunteers must have an interest in ensuring everyone has equal access to sidewalks, crosswalks, paths and more.”
