Bruce Harrell to deliver address following Katie Wilson's win in race for Seattle mayor

EATTLE — Bruce Harrell will deliver an address to the citizens of Seattle on Thursday, the day after his challenger, Katie Wilson, secured enough votes to oust him as mayor.

Harrell did not say what he'll talk about during his speech, but it is considered mathematically impossible for him to pull ahead in the race at this point. Wilson is nearly 2,000 votes ahead, while there are only around 1,400 ballots left to count.

"Ahead by almost 2,000 votes, we now believe that we’re in an insurmountable position," a prepared statement from Wilson's campaign reads. "We’re so grateful to all the volunteers who have powered this grassroots campaign to victory."

Wilson added that her campaign was "looking forward" to Harrell's address on Thursday.
