Eighteen people were arrested during a pro-Palestinian protest at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, the Redmond Police Department (RPD) reported via Facebook.
Police were sent to a large gathering of protesters in the Microsoft courtyard on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m.
Officers initially attempted to trespass the protesters, but they resisted and became aggressive, RPD stated in its post.
Several protesters reportedly poured paint over the Microsoft sign and on the ground.

Microsoft, under continued pressure over the use of its technology by the Israeli military, said Friday that its launching a formal review into allegations that its cloud services were used as part of the mass surveillance of Palestinians.
The move follows the Aug. 6 reports in The Guardian, +972 Magazine and Local Call, citing sources who said the Israeli Defense Forces stored data from widespread phone monitoring of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank on Microsoft Azure servers.
The company said its terms of service would prohibit this type of usage. When the story was initially published, the company said its work with an Israeli intelligence unit was for cybersecurity purposes, and that it was not aware of any civilian surveillance.
Members of the group have staged repeated demonstrations at Microsoft events, arguing that the companys technology is enabling human rights abuses against Palestinians.
UPDATE: In response to Microsofts announcement, No Azure for Apartheid dismissed the companys review as a stalling tactic and said the inquiry does not address its core demand: that Microsoft end all cloud and AI contracts with the Israeli military.

(3,630 posts)There is a web of corporate giants - tech companies like Palantir, Microsoft and Amazon, financial institutions, along with arms manufacturers etc - that have been sustaining Israel's "economy of occupation and now genocide". It's profitable for them.
Also for the Israeli companies. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange jumped 200% since the start of the war, amassing gains of $220 billion.
Francesca Albanese, the United Nations special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory, wrote a report ocalled "Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide" last month. Microsoft was one of the companies she identified. Shortly after, she was sanctioned by the U.S. - at great personal cost to her.
I don't expect a reversal by Microsoft or the others. If they haven't disengaged by now, they are all complicit. Too much money to be made.
Here's her report:
