Progressive challenger Erika Evans trouncing incumbent Seattle City Attorney Ann Davison in early returns

Ann Davison could be a few weeks from being out of a job as Seattle City Attorney.

Voters in the Emerald City are sending a clear message tonight that they aren’t happy with the status quo and are eager for change. 62.27% of voters so far are voting for one of Davison’s three progressive challengers for City Attorney, with former federal prosecutor Erika Evans getting an astounding 51% of the vote.

This looks like Evans’ race to lose in November.

Evans narrowly trailed Davison in NPI’s pre-election survey, 33% to 29%, after respondents saw a selection of information from the voter’s pamphlet statements. Her candidacy received the biggest jump in support in between the initial horserace question and the informed vote follow-up. These results demonstrate that our research once again succeeded in locking onto the in-progress electoral dynamics.
