Victoria Hunt leads Chad Magendanz in 5th LD special election, Deb Krishnadasan nearly tied with Michelle Caldier in

26th LD

Two Democratic state senators running in battleground district special elections this year in Washington got a preview tonight of what the general election could look like in their respective swaths of Western Washington.

State Senator Victoria Hunt, the successor to the late Bill Ramos, is turning in a solid performance in her East King County district, with close to 53% of the initial vote.

She knocked on over 14,000 doors in the lead-up to August 5th; the Washington State Democrats organized a canvass for her last weekend, as did the labor movement.

Hunt was joined at her Election Night party in Issaquah by U.S. Representative Suzan DelBene, Senate Majority Leader Jamie Pedersen, King County Democratic Party Chair Beth Bazley, State Representative Lisa Callan, and State Representative Zach Hall. Perry, Ramos’ spouse, hosted the well-attended gathering with her family.
