Seattle mayoral challenger Katie Wilson ahead of incumbent Bruce Harrell in Top Two Election Night returns

The initial results are in for Seattle’s August 5th Top Two election, and it’s good news across the board for progressives. Katie Wilson leads Bruce Harrell 46.4% to 45% with about ninety thousand votes counted so far.

Across King County, voter turnout stands at 19%.

Other municipal races where progressives were matched up against corporate-aligned opponents have also gone the way of the more left-leaning candidate.

In the City Attorney’s race, Erika Evans leads Ann Davison 51.3% to 37.3%, a substantial lead. Alexis Mercedes Rinck is crushing Rachael Savage, and Dionne Foster certainly has Sara Nelson worried as she has a majority of the vote, while Nelson hasn’t even broken forty percent. It’s a terrible showing for an incumbent.
