Election 2025: Daman well in front in Mount Vernon City Council race

Demi Daman and Consuelo Pineda were leading Tuesday in the three-candidate race for the at-large seat on the Mount Vernon City Council.

Daman, Pineda and candidate Stefanie LeJeunesse are all first-time candidates. Incumbent Richard Brocksmith is not running for reelection.

As of the first ballot count of the primary election, Daman had 2,008 votes, Pineda 558 votes and LeJeunesse 540 votes.

The top two vote-getters when the election is certified Aug. 19 will advance to the Nov. 4 general election.
