Dunn, Sandau poised to compete for Waitsburg mayor seat in general election

In the primary race for Waitsburg mayor, early returns showed incumbent Marty Dunn and challenger Brad Sandau favored to face off in November’s general election.

Of the 220 votes counted on Tuesday, Aug. 5, Dunn had 76.36% and Sandau 18.64%, or 168 and 41 votes, according to Walla Walla County Elections.

The third candidate, Jim Strawn, had 4.09% of votes, or nine votes.

The election saw two write-in votes, making up 0.91% of the vote total.
