WSU will host a sustainable community steward course this fall
SNOHOMISH Washington State Universitys extension program will host a nine-week course this fall for people interested in learning how to combat climate change on a community scale and volunteering with future extension engagement events.
This fall, Snohomish County residents can enroll in the Sustainable Community Stewards course to learn more about what can and cant be recycled, how to reduce waste and what actions individuals and communities can take to make a difference toward combating climate change.
The program runs from Sept. 10 to Nov. 5. Trainings are 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays with most sessions in-person at Willis D. Tucker Community Park.
Representatives from local waste collection companies and environmental organizations will present throughout the course, and the class will have field trips to places like the Brightwater Treatment Plant, Cedar Grove Compost, Snohomish County transfer station and an organic farm.
