63% of Washington voters support Senator Maria Cantwell's Trade Review Act of 2025, NPI poll finds

Senator Maria Cantwell’s legislation to reassert some of Congress’ authority to set tariffs is extremely popular with Washington voters, including many voters in rural Washington, which suggests that it may something that voters across the country want too, NPI’s most recent statewide poll of the Evergreen State electorate has found.

63% of a representative sample of 737 Washington voters surveyed in late June by Civiqs for the Northwest Progressive Institute said that they supported Cantwell’s Trade Review Act of 2025, which was introduced back in April. 32% were opposed and 4% said they were not sure. A majority of 54% said they were strongly supportive.

The Trade Review Act is sorely needed, as Donald Trump’s lawless, authoritarianism-obsessed regime continues to unilaterally impose punishing tariffs in a senseless effort to wreck the United States economy and tank the world economy along with it.

The latest development is a set of executive orders signed this week, which were circulated in a series of emails sent to the White House press list.
