Swiss airline launches nonstop route from Sea-Tac Airport

A Swiss leisure and charter airline will debut a seasonal route between Seattle and Zurich, Switzerland, on Monday.

Edelweiss Air will launch service of its 11-hour, nonstop route between the Seattle-Tacoma and International Airport and Zurich Airport. It’s the latest international route to open at Sea-Tac, which has added a bevy of new routes over the past year.

The flights will become available twice weekly, on Mondays and Saturdays, between June and September. Next year, they will start up again May 30.

Edelweiss said it will use a 300-seat Airbus A340-300 for the long-haul flights. Edelweiss is a subsidiary of Germany-based Lufthansa Group.
