Multiple lanes on I-5 are blocked in both directions at Northgate Way in Seattle after a collision, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) confirmed.
All lanes heading north are blocked, as of this reporting, in addition to three southbound lanes.
A crash involving a semi-truck has blocked all northbound lanes of I-5 just north of Northgate, KIRO Newsradio traffic reporter Chris Sullivan said. The crash appears to have pushed the jersey barrier into the southbound lanes of I-5, blocking the HOV lane and two general purpose lanes southbound.

It was a horrific accident involving at least three cars and the semi, and the cars were destroyed, KIRO host Spike ONeill said while stuck in the ensuing traffic. Theres one car in front of the semi pinned against the side of the guardrail. There is another car that is literally entwined into the load bed of the semi truck, and its literally caught under the wheels and half (of the car) is under the semi.
