I guess he's not coming here to sample the wines at the Trump vineyard. Bleech!

Perhaps he's going to the secret squirrel campus (NGIC) to observe some real time action. Scuttlebutt says that they have operational functions there and not just gathering intelligence.

Hopefully he will chopper directly there and not via CHO. We see helicopter traffic there that is not showing on flight tracker web pages.

I have errands to run Friday and my route goes a few hundred yards from the airport.

Four circles on two centers.

One center at the Charlottesville airport of different diameters at different times

One center at the Trump Vineyard with different diameters at different times

I was wrong about the vineyard. Perhaps he's invited the Iranians for a wine tasting. More likely one of those high dollar fund raising dinners or some such.

Marine One

Marine One is the call sign of any United States Marine Corps aircraft carrying the president of the United States. As of 2024, it is most frequently applied to a presidential transport helicopter operated by Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) "Nighthawks", most commonly as the VH-3D Sea King, or less frequently as the newer VH-92A Patriot and smaller VH-60N "White Hawk". Both helicopters are called "White Tops" because of their livery. Any Marine Corps aircraft carrying the vice president of the United States without the president has the call sign Marine Two.

As an aside, years ago Trump's private chopper landed there at the winery when we had a crew there for an event. He walked over and scanned our road cases like he owned them.

The TFR's timing seem to show an itinerary of airport to winery and back to airport. So likely a small jet to airport then chopper to the winery. Maybe he'll do a motorcade to the winery. Many folks in Charlottesville are not such big fans of his and they'd turn out to show him what they think.

On my way past the airport this afternoon, I saw two Ospreys in close formation climbing and heading roughly toward the winery. Advance planning?

I've seen multiple aircraft in formation with only one transponder on and the track seems like the ones I saw, but they apparently were just headed downwind of cho before they landed. I crossed 29 and headed east so i didn't observe more of the flight.

Anyhow, probably not related to the visit, but they were there more than 3 hours.
