ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A man jumped off a 15th floor balcony to escape the FBI trying to serve them a criminal arrest warrant Friday morning. The person died on the scene.

Federal investigators from the FBI's Washington Field Office were at the Alexander Apartments on King Street, attempting to arrest the man around 6 a.m. The person went out a window onto the 15th floor balcony, where FBI spokesperson Kelly Conner said they jumped.

Authorities rushed down out of the building to try to resuscitate the person, but they were not able to. Conner said the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death.

Officials have not given any more details about who the person is or what charges they were facing. In a press conference Friday morning, the FBI said the arrest warrant is sealed.

Not high enough to reach "terminal velocity" but according to Google, he likely reached 112 mph (50.06 m/s) at impact. How tragic for his family. -- I'm sure the conspiracy theories will abound within the coming hours and days.
