Forsan ISD Board Approves $47 Million Bond Election for May 2, 2026, Following Extensive Community Planning Process
Forsan, Texas The Forsan Independent School District Board of Trustees has officially called a $47 million bond election to be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The decision, announced in a letter sent this month to district families and community members, aims to address long-term facility needs across the small rural West Texas district through targeted construction and renovations.
The proposed bond package represents the culmination of a comprehensive two-year facilities planning process conducted by Forsan ISD. District officials emphasized that the planning was driven by input from local stakeholders rather than top-down directives.
As part of that effort, the district convened a Community Facilities Committee composed of parents, district staff, business owners, and other community members who volunteered their time to guide the recommendations.
Committee members dedicated significant effort to the process, which included touring district facilities, reviewing detailed financial information, evaluating a range of renovation and new construction options, and discussing a long-range facility plan. The group met multiple times throughout the two-year period. Their findings and recommendations were formally presented to the Board of Trustees and played a key role in shaping the specific bond proposal that voters will consider on the May ballot.
