Whataburger turned 75 yesterday

Whataburger offered hamburgers for seventy-five cents yesterday.

I admit that I waited about 20 or so minutes in the drive thru. I had a shorter wait than many

I was pleased to see so many Whataburger fans out yesterday

7. It's Texas style with lots of spicy mustard, pepper and no ketchup.

I skip the mustard and order with ketchup and mayo. The onions are diced a bit too large. Overall the meat is good.

I'm not a fan of spicy mustard etc.

Texans hate ketchup and mayo. I'm not from Texas. I never got the "mustard" thing and Texans hate for ketchup. Hubby won't eat ketchup to this day.

2. I can't imagine how this chain has survived so long. Their food is awful.

To be honest, I wouldn't eat it if they paid me to do so. Tried it once. Never again.

11. Ick!!! Haven't eaten there in a few years. They're always supercrowded here. Maybe I'll check it out.

I like in and out, but it's a drive for me.

I also like DQ, but their lines are too long.

Whataburger is open 24/7.

When it first opened, people were waiting in drive up line for 45-60 min, including those who ordered & paid online. People were not happy. Soon, there were no cars in drive up lane & there were only 2 others eating in the dining room when I was there.

Truly putrid food.

I haven't been in about a year. But it tasted pretty much the same. They're all over the place around here.

4. I haven't been to a Whataburger in years.

I took my business elsewhere, once the stories of deteriorating food quality started turning up (after a major corporate takeover).

Now, every time a big company acquires a restaurant, I see "I hope to hell it doesn't ruin the food like it did with Whataburger" comments online. Damn shame; Whataburger used to be worthwhile.

“What-in-Burger”. When I was a teen, just was not a million burger places, no competition, and to park and eat in the car was cool.
That was a date night back then. (Guess that’s why I was single a lot) Have not been to one in 65 years.

It's definitely a Texas thing. The fact it's been around for so long is its own testament. I go for the super large iced teas and their Dr Pepper shakes when they have them.
