Bell County replaces four voting locations for November election

BELTON — The Bell County Commissioners Court gave the thumbs-up to replace four polling locations, in an effort to provide more accessible, efficient voting options for Temple, Salado, Rogers, and Killeen residents.

The Texas Election Code mandates polling places meet strict accessibility standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure elderly and disabled voters can cast ballots with ease.

Bell County spokesperson Meredith Bender explained to the Telegram how these updates, approved July 28, stem from a mix of practical and strategic reasons, all aimed at enhancing voter access and capacity.

• Salado: The Salado Church of Christ will no longer serve as a polling site, as church leaders opted to step back from hosting. Instead, the Salado Annex at 11057 Event Dr. will offer voters a place to cast ballots on Election Day and during early voting.
