City of Lexington's election day begins Thursday

We went to the Henderson County Election Commission Wednesday morning to speak to the administrator of election, robin powers, about the city of Lexington’s election day Thursday.

“The polls will open at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning and close at 7 p.m. tomorrow night. If you don’t know where to vote, you can give us a call or go to govotetn.gov and it will tell you where to find your voting precinct,” said Robin Powers, administrator of elections for Henderson County.

It is important that you know where your precinct is located. You are not allowed to vote at the election commission office. That location was only available for early voting, which Powers says went well.

“We had a heavy turnout for early voting. More than the last couple of elections. There’s a lot of interest with the mayor’s race and some other alderman races being on the ballot,” said Powers.
