Tara Zrinski (D) bests Tom Giovanni (R) for Northampton County executive, unofficial results show

Northampton County voters on Tuesday elected Tara Zrinski as county executive, the top administrator position, according to unofficial results with all precincts reporting.

Zrinski is currently county controller, also an elected position, and campaigned for executive against elected county council member Tom Giovanni.

Voters appear to have chosen Zrinski to become the first woman to serve as Northampton County executive.

Zrinski took 51,406 votes to 35,621 for Giovanni, according to the unofficial results, for a percentage split of around 59-41.
