A Blue Wave in Bucks County as Democrats Sweep Row Offices, Dominate Races Across the County

Democrats swept Bucks County’s row office elections, where there will soon be a new district attorney (Joe Khan), sheriff (Danny Ceisler), prothonotary (Donna Petrecco), recorder of deeds (Robin Robinson) and county controller (Neale Dougherty).

Democrats also swept the county court of common pleas races where Amy Fitzpatrick, Linda Bobrin, Dawn DiDonato Burke and Tiffany Thomas-Smith were elected.

One closely watched school board race was in Central Bucks School District. Democrats continued their recent dominance with a second consecutive election clean sweep. In Pennridge School District, Democrats won three out of four seats. Democrats in Bensalem swept four available seats, and in Council Rock Democrats won three out of four seats to keep their majority.

Statewide, State Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht – all Democrats – were all reelected. The state Supreme Court has been at the center of pivotal fights over voting rights, redistricting and elections. It could again be called on to settle partisan battles over election laws ahead of next year’s midterm contests to decide the governor’s office and the U.S. House majority.

BIG result, folks:

Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was ground zero for the conservative takeover of school boards & anti-LGBTQ policies in 2021, on the Central Bucks and Pennridge boards.

Dems flipped both boards back in 2023.

Tonight, Dems have ousted *all* Republicans from both school boards.
