May 2025 Election: Jackson Co. Fire District 4 asks for 10 levy increase

SHADY COVE, Ore. – May’s special district election is less than a month away, with candidates running to fill positions in local leadership boards.

Also on the ballot, are various district and county specific measures including one in Jackson County which, if successful, would prevent critical cuts and service reductions for one local fire district.

Jackson County Fire District 4 serves the nearly 5,000 people living in the rural area between Shady Cove and Trail in northern Jackson County.

The district’s current 5-year operating levy is set to expire in 2026 and they’re asking for a renewal with a 10¢ increase.
