Jefferson County prepares for high turnout in off-year election

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The Jefferson County Board of Elections is preparing for a potentially large voter turnout for the upcoming election on Tuesday, despite it being an off-year election.

Early voting has already seen significant participation, with many residents casting their ballots ahead of time.

"Things have been going well. People have been turning out from communities all throughout Jefferson County. Absentee voting has been going well, and we have been seeing participation from all throughout the county for whatever reason, whether you're voting for township officials, village officials, city officials, levies that are out there this year, school board, so we have been seeing a lot of participation," said Frankie DiCarlantonio from the Jefferson County Board of Elections.

There is still time for early voting, but the deadline is approaching.
