(10,170 posts)Even as they still want to be red, they cannot deny the lack of attention for their plight.
I hope it resonates enough that they will finally break the cycle and put a Democrat in there. I have too many friends that live in that part of that state and they are as sick of the redness as I am.

(1,211 posts)Right now there are lot's of Western NC Dems who are butt hurt because the NC 11 Democratic officers invited Ager to speak at the convention this past spring....and didn't invite the other people who had announced. Our rules do not allow partiality during the primary season, in order to give all Democrats an equal opportunity. They corrected the mistake and invited all to participate but some didn't attend....and a couple dropped out of the race, one has threatened to run as an Independent.
As usual this may be the case where Democrats don't get out of their own way! I have met all of the candidates and Ager isn't my favorite. He looks good on paper---farmer and he's from a family of Democratic politicians. We'll see what Western NC Dems decide to do! The Asheville area is very liberal and they have the most Democratic voters....the rest of the District is more of the old fashioned Blue Dog Democrats who are more middle of the road. Ager fits that mold, and if Asheville doesn't like him then we'll get a far left Dem that will lose again.
