Recount confirms Tremblay's win in Berlin special election

After a recount, Republican Marc Tremblay is still the winner of the special election to represent Berlin in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Tremblay, the Berlin police commissioner, beat out career educator Corinne Cascadden, a Democrat, in the Nov. 4 election. The final vote after the recount was 878-873, according to the Secretary of State’s Office. That’s even closer than it was in the preliminary count of 878-864.

Tremblay now replaces Republican Brian Valerino, who resigned from the seat after Gov. Kelly Ayotte nominated him in May to be the warden for the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility in Berlin.
