Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong (R) announces bid for re-election

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says he is running for another term. Furlong has served as the 27th Carson City Sheriff since 2003.

In a post on social media, Sheriff Furlong said he believes the job of sheriff is never finished and he's looking forward to facing future challenges in that role.

He said next year the sheriff's office will implement a massive technology upgrade - their largest in more than two decades.

Furlong is a lifelong resident of Carson City.

does a good job. He will be re-elected for as long as he wants the job.
He is no spring chicken at 70.
