(2,960 posts)He should be kicked off the force and imprisoned for felonious assault. He will, of course, suffer neither and will more than likely have a reprimand on his record, make a firm purpose of amendment to sin no more, and never again make the mistake of beating up a citizen in range of his vehicles camera.
The police department will pay the victim handsomely. The video, itself, is horrible to watch and will do no good for police relations with the citizenry it exists to protect. Trump, before he finally dies, may give this pig the Medal of Freedom.
(It also occurs to me that this pig is, in fact, the epitome of MAGA law enforcement. ICE no longer has serious standards for recruitment. Witness that one of its recent hires was at the Jan6 treason shouting to his fellow thugs to kill -- not reason with, but kill -- the police.

(157 posts)He should be fired, the problem is fired cops still get hired by other police departments. There's a long history of that.

(161 posts)I now see why the budgets are so high for policing in the USA. Everytime (& it does seem frequent), a cop is caught abusing a person they get themselves sued. At least I really hope it's this lady's response.

(15,722 posts)most of us no longer pay much attention. Hopefully, all the videos showing ICE thugs attacking and brutalizing innocent people, and the recent passage of Trump's bill creating a vast ICE authoritarian police force in America, will help focus more attention on the garden-variety police violence we've sadly become accustomed to in this country.
