MI-SD35: Candidates for Michigan's 35th District Senate race selected in primary election

SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. — The candidates for a special election that could shake up the balance of power in the Michigan State Senate were selected in a primary election on Tuesday.

Chedrick Greene and Jason Tunney were nominated as candidates for the 35th District Senate election according to the Associated Press.

For the Democratic candidate, Chedrick Greene cinched the nomination.

Greene, who served as a U.S. Marine and as a fire captain in Saginaw, was endorsed by Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet, who previously held the seat.
