New faces join Brewster Select Board in double turnover. Who was elected?

Brewster voters elected Harvey Dahl and Caroline McCarley to the town's top-governing board on May 20, filling seats left open by outgoing members David Whitney and Cynthia Bingham.

The two secured the most votes in a three-way race that also included David Faherty Jr.

Polling was held at the Brewster Baptist Church from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 1,591 of the town's 8,924 registered voters, or 17.8%, submitting ballots.

Select Board Chairman Whitney and Vice Chairwoman Bingham did not seek reelection, creating an unusual opportunity for two newcomers to join at the same time. The staggered terms on the five-member board ensure that at least some experienced members remain in office after each election.
