Annapolis: Mayor-elect Littmann, a Democratic sweep

Jared Littmann’s early lead in the Nov. 4 election for mayor of Annapolis not only held over Republican businessman Bobby O’Shea, it grew. Official results released Wednesday said Littmann, a Democrat, received 6,792 votes to O’Shea’s 2,441, or 73% to 26%.

Littman thanked supporters in a social media post in a journey he acknowledged was long, — it started when he announced his candidacy in January 2024. Littmann will be sworn in as mayor on Dec. 1, taking over from Mayor Gavin Buckley (D), who is term-limited after serving two terms.

Democrats swept the City Council races, according to the official results.

The closest race was Ward 1 where Alderman Harry Huntley trailed by 10 votes on election night. But after mail-in and provisional ballots were counted, Huntley got 987 votes, compared to 889 votes for unaffiliated candidate Tom Kriek
