City, school board election ballots set

REGIONAL—The applicants have filed their paperwork and the ballots are set for city and public school board elections across N’West Iowa on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Some cities will have contested elections for mayor and council members while others have no one who filed for mayor. Cities such as Archer, Chatsworth, Ocheyedan and Sibley have no candidate and will rely on write-in votes.

Larchwood and Orange City will have competitive races as seven are on the city council ballot in Larchwood while eight are running in Orange City. Two council spots are available in each city.

Voters will take to the polls 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, for cities to elect council members, school board members and some mayoral positions. Preregistration for voters ends at 5 p.m. Oct. 20, but same-day registration also is available.
