IA-HD78: Democrats declare victory as Angel Ramirez wins District 78 special election
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Democrats have declared victory in the Iowa House District 78 special election Tuesday night.
Angel Ramirez was elected to fill the seat left by former Representative Sami Scheetz.
Ramirez is the first Latina to serve in the Iowa Legislature.
She is also a Coe College graduate and leader of a nonprofit.
