a sweet jb story-
so, i know a teeny bit about how the pritzkers live. well. (i had small dealings w his sister suzie back in the day.) so i wasnt surprised when a friend told me about jbs love of good stereo equipment.
her husband worked as an installer for a small, independent high end store. apparently jb had a habit of trading up when something better came out. and the same guy was always sent to install, to the point that they became friends. (ok, that rt there.)
so, every time this guy went out, hed get a call saying- bring the kids.
the guy had a bunch of kids, not sure how many in those days or how old. but every time, he brought the kids who swam in the pool, and hung out, and were fed.
the guy wondered, eventually, if a new amp wasnt just an excuse for a party.
and thats y i was on team jb from the jump. kids. he did a lot to push early childhood ed here, including spend money. his 1st ad was about that, and there were a bunch of kids in the ad, being kids. and he was clearly loving it.
this is my core issue. if we just did the best for all our kids, wed change the world.
also, see the jimmy kimmel appearance last night. his ability to laugh at himself is amazing.
