The power went out. And I really wanted to know how that movie ended! Was luckier than many, only without power for about 36 hours.

We was out of electricity for 12 days after Hurricane Sandy.

I took a picture of the incoming hurricane from the top of Cape May, N.J. lighthouse. It was two days before the hurricane hit and it showed a large, grey cloud bank filling the southern sky.

The storm blew the top off a huge tulip poplar and slammed it into - and through - our screened - in porch. Many of our neighbors suffered damage that was far worse. It looked like a war zone. It was 100 degrees for days following the storm, and of course there was no power. Yes, I remember it well!
