Jury trial date set for Crosby (R) in election interference case
PHOENIX Cochise County Supervisor Tom Crosby will stand trial on two Class 5 felony charges related to election interference starting Oct. 30 with Judge Suzanne Marwil in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Crosby's trial is slated to run through Nov. 13, according to a court order issued Monday morning. Ten jurors will be initially empaneled but only eight will take part in deliberations.
It was also confirmed during the hearing that if Crosby were amenable to a plea deal to avoid trial then the Arizona Attorney General's Office would agree to nothing lower than an undesignated Class 6 felony.
A conviction of an undesignated Class 6 felony allows a defendant to have the conviction reduced to a Class 1 misdemeanor upon full payment of any fines and fees, as well as successful completion of sentence or probation.
