This is my birdbath dripper. As long as the water in the bath is disturbed, mosquitos will not lay their eggs, so this is a fresh water dripper. I was about 15 feet away, and took two 8 shot bursts covering two drip sequences. The first missed the drip completely. The second sequence is what you see here. This is what it looked like in the viewfinder when the drop formed, through to complete drip. I was intrigued by the difference between the last two shots as the surface tension collapsed and gravity took hold, almost missed the grand finale.

(9,046 posts)YOU GOT THE SHOT, all eight of them in fact. It's real neat to see the sequence in your image. To see its resolution. AND that you beat gravity
in the end!
To win this contest you overcame substantial competition. Congratulations. But I am certain that celebrity will not change you, because if even a hint
of hubris were to spring up in your head it would just drip, drip, drip out the other side.
