(6,819 posts)The paths through the tulip beds were packed; I've never seen so many people at Longwood on a weekday. I had to park in the remote overflow lot and take a shuttle to the entrance, which usually only happens during special fountain-show weekends or the annual Christmas show.

(26,152 posts)The second one is outstanding! I love tulips so much but they do not like FL heat, so are difficult to regrow. I got some this year that were beautiful, dark red outside and inside is very bright yellow with a dark red center and brown freckles - glorious! I'm going to try refrigerating the bulbs in the fall for a few months before planting them. Hopefully it'll be cold enough for them to grow - but that is very iffy for here recently.

(6,819 posts)There's an entire bed dedicated to the white tulips and other white flowers. It acts as a cleansing of the visual palete from all the intense palettes of the other beds.
