In 1914, my grandfather's brother designed Jack's Creek covered bridge in Patrick Co. VA. It was built by someone else. However, in 1921, he designed and built the Bob White covered bridge, also in Patrick Co. Both were listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
Sadly, the Bob White bridge was lost during flooding in 2015. Plans to re-build are in the works.

I’ll bet that was a *brisk* hike !! Love old covered bridges. The setting in your photos is very scenic.

They’re re-building one about an hour north of me and I can’t wait to see the final result and photograph it.
