(5,441 posts)My brother lived there until he died in 1988. Hubby and I always flew out to visit his family, even after his death. His father-in-law always took us around to view things in the city when we visited. On one trip it was to see the beautiful mural graffiti. I remember an alley that was a couple blocks long and every building had gorgeous art work painted on it. The above are stunning.

(23,229 posts)When Pinochet took over in Chile in '73, one of his first orders was to order all the murals painted over - and he made a special point to single out any with Indigenous motifs.
After he bowed out in '90, a few were meticulously restored (as much as they could, anyway).

So intense, just a taste will often do (a little more, if you were chewed out by somebody).

I had a wonderful day a few years ago roaming that area and seeing one jaw-dropping, inspiring mural after another. A glorious tribute to the human spirit.

(22,443 posts)I can't tell you how much I love these vibrant explosions of color. I love things that are colorful, and the artists who have created these have used dramatic palettes of the kind of bright, intense hues that my eyes love to wallow in. Thanks for sharing these images!
