Gauge 07/38 put a set on a Les Paul clone i have and oh my. As in get behind thee 12 -56 gauge you painful bastards.
Ive ordered a set of 10-46 of this brand of strings to put on my Mexican strat.

(68,504 posts)... those strings are not budget breakers. I'm from the Ernie Ball generation. If you didn't at least break an e string, you really weren't playing. Never could play worth a lick, but I could tune pretty well and carry a guitar into a venue. And the board, amps, boxes, cables, mics and stands, the drum cases (though most drummers I knew hauled and set up their own stuff. I learned quick: leave the cymbal case alone).

(4,320 posts)I currently am using 08-38 with RPS, (reinforced plain strings.) I find if I don't use RPS, they come unwrapped from the ball end before long. I played 11s for decades and my left hand is very strong. I haven't had an RPS ever come loose. The 08s make a big difference in how long I'm able to play.
