Hayley Williams and Justin Jones at the Ryman

..."Last night was powerful and amazing. So grateful for the light of my friend @yelyahwilliams, especially in these times! It’s been heavy and depressing the past few months during a toxic legislative session, but last night felt like a release of some of that negativity and a reminder of the strength of our community.

Too many have been under attack by extremist politicians trafficking in the politics of white supremacy, transphobia, xenophobia, homophobia, and misogyny. It’s been unrelenting but people continue to fight back, particularly here in the South where we have faced these forces for so long.

We stay and fight because we still believe in Nashville and know that the South is worth fighting for. One of my favorite lyrics from Hayley’s song “True Believer” says, “The South will not rise again/ Til it’s paid for every sin/ Strange fruit, hard bargain/ Till the roots, Southern Gotham…” She continues to remind us of a South that can rise ANEW and where folks don’t feel like they have to leave in order to feel safe and have their rights protected.

And Nashville SHOWED UP big time, so much love in that space, selling out the Ryman Auditorium three night in a row. So grateful for Hayley always using her platform to speak truth and uplift the issues that matter. There is a lot of pain all around us right now, but last night was a reminder that there’s also a lot of hope and healing when we gather and vibe together. My heart was full and that type of energy is what will sustain us for the fights ahead.

Hayley, you are such a profound light that inspires each of us to be our whole, authentic, and best selves. Honored to be in this fight for a better world with you my friend. Nashville loves you and grateful that you call our community home. We’ll keep pushing forward and together we will win. All power to the people!!! ✊🏾💛"
