In 1970 five of us drove a Volkswagen bug from Orlando to the Atlanta Pop Festival thinking we were going to Woodstock 2. I think it was in Fulton County Stadium. Ten Years After, Mountain, Traffic, The Allman Brothers and 4 or 5 other big name bands were scheduled. It rained all day and the stage set up on the edge of the outfield remained covered. Tons of hippies lined the concourses and anywhere it was dry. Tons of cops. Around 10pm it stopped raining and the Allman Brothers were going to play. The cops said the stadium was going to close and everyone had to leave. Boos and 'catcalls' resulted in them being allowed to play one song. Mountain (the next scheduled band) came up and joined the ABB. They played one song. Mississippi Queen. For what seemed like an hour. We left an drove back to Orlando. Not sleeping for 48 hours is a walk in the park when you're 18 and have micro-dots. It was worth every minute.

It started out ok, then became unlistenable. (I restarted my phone and it was fine.)
Anyway, I loved these guys, especially Felix Pappalardi's voice.
We saw Leslie opening for Joe Satriani at the Chicago Theater. Probably 4 or 5 years before he died.
What a shock! Leslie wasn't a mountain anymore. He lost so much weight. He looked really good.
Joe brought hom back out for the encode so they could jam together. Was very cool.
